Licensing, Credentialing & Peer Review
Healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare providers are required by both state and federal law to be licensed. Additionally, other healthcare facilities, such as hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and nursing facilities are required to be licensed and are regulated by both state and federal licensing and regulatory agencies. Healthcare providers that are required to be members of the medical staffs of hospitals, healthcare facilities, or managed care organizations are further subject to credentialing by those organizations. The Health Law Group represents physicians and all healthcare professionals and licensed healthcare facilities in licensing, disciplinary and peer review actions, and other regulatory reviews.
Examples of representation by The Health Law Group include:
- Representation of physicians in peer review and credentialing actions before hospital medical staff committees and governing boards.
- Representation of physicians before the State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Representation of nursing homes, hospitals, and other facilities before state and federal surveyors and regulatory agencies.
- Advice to physicians regarding the National Practitioner Data Bank.
